Establishing
a new definition for "white water", here is what Lick Creek
looked like on July 8, 2004 in a photo by Pepper Morris. |

And
it wasn't much better in this picture Pepper took on July
14, 2004 either. |

On
the left is another day of pollution below the low water
crossing.
And
on the right, going back to April 4, 2004 (in a pic by
Cindy
Phillips), is Lick Creek down-stream of the Green Hole.
Lovely green-ery isn't it? Too bad we have to look at it fram-ing
that nasty, polluted creek. |

On
July 27, 2004, Cindy took this depressing picture down
at the beloved Green Hole. The hole wasn't so aptly named
on that day was it?

These
two pictures were taken by Cindy on July 27, 2004.
On
the left is Lick Creek just below the low water crossing.
On
the right is Lick Creek just upstream of the Green Hole. |

Phil
Conard took this photo just below the low water crossing
on Pedernales Canyon Trail, October 3, 2004 (following
the October 1-2 rain event). It shows where the east branch
of Lick Creek joins the west branch. Note that the pool
below the falls is polluted and murky brown. |

And
just in case you've forgotten what the hubbub is all about:
On
the left is what it used to be like - two people enjoying
the sparkly little waterfall, falling into an unspoiled
Green
Hole.
On
the right, the same place (only somewhat less inviting),
shot by Cindy Phillips on july 27, 2004. |
