Talk
about dedication - Jim Phillips started the smoker the day
before then camped out with it all night. Here he serves
up portions of tender brisket, turkey and yummy sausages.

The
Austin Family Jewels wowed the crowd. Hidden in the back
is Francie Meau Jeaux of Slim Richie and Francie fame standing
in for the Jewels missing bass player.

The
old La Tierra caliche pit made a terrific amphitheater for
the event, with seating on 3 levels. The 160 attendees could
really stretch out and get comfy. Photo

Then,
for the main attraction - Rob Gjersoe, recently returned
from touring with the Green Cards, accompanied the great
Jimmie Dale Gilmore
with
some
fabulous
guitar pickin'. Jimmie shined as always.

Old
friends and musical partners, Jimmie and Rob found
the groove and stayed there 'til the sun went down. What
a party! Thanks to all the musicians and volunteers, not
to mention all the attendees who made this benefit a success.
