Saturday, August 28, 2005, John McCall opened his spectacular Lick Creek Lodge for a sell-out crowd of 250 supporters who came to hear a Flatlanders reunion concert. And the crowd was not disappointed. Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock and Joe Ely worked their magic, playing Flatlanders hits as well as some that were made popular by them as individuals. The boys were also joined by Jimmie's son Colin for a number. And special guest, songster, mystery writer, gubernatorial candidate and cigar smoker Kinky Friedman also appeared to lead the audience in a singalong. There was also a silent auction and fine dinner prepared by Guardians to add to the fun. The funds raised, of course, will be used for the Lick Creek legal struggle. Thanks to all who worked to make this concert a success. (The following photos by Ric Sternberg.)

Jimmie Gilmore shouts too.
Butch's "West Texas Waltz" always evokes a shout from the audience. Jimmie not to be outdone, howls to the sky.
The audience gives an enthusiastic ovation.
And, at the end, an appreciative audience goes wild. (The pix below are by Kariem Ali.)
